Our impact

What our work has achieved.

Documenting is not enough. We measure our work by what it sets in motion: legal proceedings, recommendations addressed to the authorities, cases followed through to their resolution. Everything on this page points to a source or a publication.

Following through

cases tracked publicly in the Kanyaka Tracker, each with its level of certainty under the UNIS method and the date it was last checked.

An open case is never closed: every development — a court decision, an answer obtained, a document made public — is recorded.

Acting together

UNIS is a member of the coalition Le Congo n'est pas à vendre (CNPAV, “Congo is not for sale”) and of the Restitution pour l'Afrique collective. It works with African and international organisations that defend human rights, promote transparency and protect whistleblowers.
